Some Homework is required to finish this rug in class.  All of the tubes should already be sewn. Please contact us for more details.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Student must be able to follow directions, sew for a several hours with multiple breaks, and have basic sewing skills such as reading a pattern, cutting from a template and sewing straight lines.
Materials Included: Pattern, material, notions and templates are not included. Lunch, snacks and/or drinks are not provided. However, a small refrigerator is available for student use.
Requirements: Prior to class, students should sew each jelly roll strip together to form one long "string". To accomplish this, place the end of one strip under the needle right side up. Place the beginning of the next strip at a right angle (a "T" shape) with right side down on top of the first strip. Sew a diagonal seam across the two strips from one "corner" to the other. Check to see if the strips are aligned when opened up and then trip to 1/4" seam. Continue until all strips in the roll are sewn together. Use the braiding tool instructions to layer the Katadhin batting and strips, fold and sew the entire length of the string together. Wind into a large string ball prior to class. If you do not complete this phase of your homework, you will NOT be able to complete your rug in class. If you need additional guidance on this step, please contact Merilee.
