Join us to create the Stitcher’s Suitcase by Patterns by Annie—the ultimate protective carrier for your precious Singer 221/222 Featherweight or other small sewing machine.
This thoughtfully designed bag is constructed with Soft and Stable for outstanding structure, shape retention, and cushioned protection. A unique wide, angled zippered opening allows the front of the bag to fall completely flat, giving you full, unobstructed access to your machine and supplies.
Inside you’ll find two full-height zippered pockets and a clear vinyl slip pocket—ideal for keeping cords, foot pedal, bobbins, tools, and even vintage manuals organized and within easy reach. An acrylic stabilizer slides into a fabric sleeve in the base to provide a firm, supportive foundation. Exterior pockets add even more storage, while adjustable handles with a cushioned wrap make the bag comfortable to carry by hand or over the shoulder. A trolley sleeve on the back lets you securely attach it to rolling luggage.
Finished size is approximately 11″ high × 17″ wide × 9½″ deep—perfectly proportioned for Featherweight machines yet versatile enough to serve as a stylish general travel or sewing-retreat bag.
In class we will walk through the clear, detailed ByAnnie instructions step by step, sharing construction tips for professional results. Prior experience with bag construction, zippers, and Soft and Stable (or similar stabilizers) is recommended. Bring your pattern, fabric, Soft and Stable, hardware, and basic sewing supplies.
Optional companion pattern *Feathered Friends* (coordinating accessories) is available but not required for this class. Treat yourself—and your machine—to a beautiful, functional project you’ll be proud to carry for years to come.
